これはLINE公式から発表されている内容で、月四日に古いバージョンのLINEアプリのサポートが終了する予定となっています。

According to LINE's official announcement, support for old versions of the LINE app is scheduled to end on the 4th of the month.

これだけ聞くと、古いスマホを使っているだけの話かな？

Hearing just this, you might wonder if it only concerns people who are using old smartphones.

自分のスマホは比較的新しいから大丈夫と思うかもしれませんが、実はそうとも限りません。

You might think your own smartphone is fine because it's relatively new, but actually that's not necessarily the case.

スマホ自体がまだ新しくても、LINEアプリが古いままになっていると対象になる可能性があります。

Even if the smartphone itself is still new, if the LINE app has been left outdated, it may be affected.

ただ、必要な条件さえ満たしていれば、月以降もこれまで通りLINEを使えます。

However, as long as you meet the necessary conditions, you can keep using LINE as before after November 4.

今回iPhoneでLINEを使い続けるためには、大きく二つの条件を確認していきます。

To keep using LINE on your iPhone, we'll check two main conditions.

まず一つ目がiPhone本体のiOSです。

First, the iOS on the iPhone itself.

iPhoneのホーム画面から設定アプリをタップ。

From the iPhone's home screen, tap the Settings app.

設定が開けたら一般をタップします。

When Settings opens, tap General.

一般が開けたら情報をタップ。

When General opens, tap About.

はい。

Okay.

するとここから自分のiOSのバージョンを確認することができます。

Then you can check your own iOS version from here.

スマキンの場合であれば二十七点zero点一になっていますよね。

In Smakin's case, it's 27.0.1.

今回確認する数字はiOSが十五点ゼロ以上です。

The number we're checking this time is iOS 15.0 or higher.

なのでこのバージョンのところが十五や十六、十七、十八、そして現在の新しいiOSなど十五以上になっていれば、

So if this version is 15, or 16, 17, 18, and so on, up to the current latest iOS, meaning 15 or higher,

まず一つ目の条件はクリアです。

then the first condition is cleared.

iOSを最新の状態にアップデートするには、

To update iOS to the latest version,

画面を一つ戻り、情報の下にあるソフトウェアアップデートをタップします。

go back one screen and tap Software Update, which is below About.

はい、すると利用できるアップデートがある場合にはこちらに表示されます。

Yes. If there is an update you can use, it will be shown here.

スマキンのようにiOSは最新ですになっていればiOSは最新の状態になっています。

As in Smakin's case, if your iOS is the latest version, then iOS is up to date.

iOSが十五より前のバージョンになっている方は、こちらからアップデートをしておきましょう。

If your iOS is older than version 15, please update from here.

はい。そしてもう一箇所必ず見ておきたいところがあります。

LINEアプリのバージョンを確認。

Check the version of the LINE app.

今回月以降もLINEを使うには、

To keep using LINE after November this time,

スマホ本体のバージョンともう一つ、LINEアプリそのもののバージョンも必要です。

you need the version of the phone itself, and also the version of the LINE app itself.

確認方法はLINEアプリをタップ。

To check, tap the LINE app.

ホームを開いたら右上の歯車設定マークをタップします。

Open Home, then tap the gear-shaped Settings icon at the top right.

設定が開けたら下の方にスクロールしていき、一番下のところにあるLINEについてをタップしてください。

When Settings opens, scroll down, and tap "About LINE" at the very bottom.

はい。

Okay.

するとこちら一番上の現在のバージョンというところに自分のLINEのバージョンが表示されます。

Then your own LINE version is displayed in the "Current version" spot at the very top.

今回はここが十四点六点三以上になっているかどうかを確認してください。

This time, please check whether this is 14.6.3 or higher.

この最初の二十六というところの数字が十五や十六、二十など十四より大きな数字になっていれば、今回の条件は満たしています。

If the first number here is larger than 14, such as 15, 16, or 20, you meet the condition this time.

バージョンが十四点六点三より前になっている場合や、LINEを最新の状態にしておきたいという方はアップデートしておきましょう。

If your LINE version is older than 14.6.3, or if you want to keep LINE up to date, let's update it.

もしここでLINEのバージョンが古かったという方も、すぐに使えなくなるということではありません。

If your LINE version is old, that doesn't mean you won't be able to use it right away.

ここからアップデートをすることで、今の端末のまま引き続きLINEを使うことができますので、アップデートしていきましょう。

By updating from here, you can keep using LINE on your current device as before, so let's update.

ホーム画面からAppStoreのアプリをタップします。

From the home screen, tap the App Store app.

はい、AppStoreを開いたら、虫眼鏡の検索マークをタップ。

Okay, once you've opened the App Store, tap the magnifying-glass search icon.

この検索のところにLINEと入れてLINEアプリを検索します。

In this search field, type in LINE and search for the LINE app.

はい、LINEと検索するとこんな感じでLINEアプリが出てきました。

ここでLINEのところにアップデートと表示されていれば、

If it says "Update" next to LINE here,

まだアップデートされていない最新のバージョンがあるということになります。

it means there is a newer version that hasn't been updated yet.

このアップデートという文字をタップしましょう。

Let's tap the word "Update".

アップデートをタップすれば、ここからすぐにLINEアプリをアップデート更新することができます。

If you tap Update, you can update the LINE app right away from here.

LINEが最新の状態になり、アップデートができると開くに変わりますので、

Once LINE is in its latest state and the update is done, the button changes to "Open", so

そしたら更新ができたということになります。

when that happens, it means the update has been completed.

更新ができたら、

Once the update is finished,

一応もう一度設定から一番下のLINEについてをタップして、

just to be safe, go to Settings again and tap "About LINE" at the very bottom,

現在のバージョンが新しくなったかというのを確認しておきましょう。

and make sure the current version has been updated to the latest one.

はい、ここまで問題なかったという方も、もう一箇所だけ見ておくのがおすすめです。

Yes, even if you've had no problems so far, it's a good idea to check one more place.

それがアプリの自動アップデートです。

That is the app's automatic update.

設定アプリをタップ。

Tap the Settings app.

画面を下にスクロールし、アプリをタップします。

Scroll the screen down and tap the app.

するとアプリの一覧が出てきますので、ここからAppStoreをタップ。

Then a list of apps will appear, so from here tap App Store.

少し下にスクロールしていくとアプリのアップデートという項目があります。

If you scroll down a little, there's an item called app update.

こちらのスイッチをオンにしておくと、AppStoreから入れたアプリは自動でアップデートがされるようになります。

If you leave this switch turned on, apps installed from the App Store will be updated automatically.

毎回自分で定期的に手動で更新しているという方はオフのままでもいいかもしれませんが、

If you're someone who regularly updates manually every time, you might be fine leaving it off, but

よく更新を忘れてしまうという方はこちらオンにしておくと更新忘れを防ぎやすくなりますのでおすすめです。

if you're someone who often forgets to update, I recommend turning this on, since it makes it easier to avoid forgetting updates.

ぜひこちらの設定も合わせて確認をしてみてください。
