ついにAppleがスマートホームに本格参入してきました。

Apple has finally made a full-scale entry into the smart home market.

しかも想像以上にたくさんの新製品が発表されたので、

What's more, many more new products than you'd imagine have been announced,

今回は一つずつ速報解説していきたいと思います。

so this time I'd like to go through them one by one as breaking news.

それでは早速行きましょう。

Well then, let's get right into it.

まずはなんといっても今回の目玉、AppleHomeViewです。

First of all, the highlight of today is, above all, Apple's HomeView.

七インチの画面にスピーカーとカメラを組み合わせた家族みんなで使うためのデバイスですね。

It's a device the whole family can use, combining a seven-inch screen with a speaker and a camera.

照明を操作したり、予定を見たり、音楽を流したり、FaceTimeで通話したりできます。

You can control the lights, check your schedule, play music, make FaceTime calls, and more.

で、ちなみに先にお伝えしておくと、HomeViewは現時点では日本発売は予定されていません。

By the way, let me tell you up front that, as of now, HomeView has no planned release in Japan.

とはいえ、日本語のプレスリリースが出ているので、もしかしたらもう間もなく日本でも発売されるかもしれませんね。

That said, a Japanese press release has come out, so it might be released in Japan very soon.

これ、見た目は小さなiPadにスピーカーをつけたようにも見えますが、

At a glance, this looks like a small iPad with a speaker attached,

仕様をじっくり見ていくと、単にiPadを置くのとは違うところが結構あるんです。

but if you look closely at the specs, there are quite a few ways it differs from simply placing an iPad down.

まずは顔認識機能。

First, the face recognition feature.

最大六人の顔を見分けて、その人のホーム画面や予定に切り替わるんですね。

It can tell up to six people apart by face and switches to that person's home screen and schedule.

例えば、僕が前に立ったら僕の予定、妻が使う時は妻の予定が表示されます。

For example, when I stand in front, my schedule is shown, and when my wife uses it, her schedule is shown.

わざわざアカウントを切り替える操作をしなくても、それぞれのアプリやウィジェットを使えるわけですね。

Without going out of your way to switch accounts, each person can use their own apps and widgets.

そうなると、家族共有の画面って便利そうだけど、

In that case, a shared family screen seems convenient, but

自分のメッセージまで他の人に見られるのはちょっと困りますよね。

it's a bit of a problem if even my own messages can be seen by other people.

でもそこもちゃんと考えられていて、

But that has been thought through properly too.

個人の情報を表示する時は顔認識に加えて、本人のiPhoneやiPadが近くにあって、かつ最近ロック解除されているといった条件があります。

When personal information is displayed, besides face recognition, there are conditions such as the person's own iPhone or iPad being nearby and having been unlocked recently.

その条件が揃った時だけ、その人が近づくとプライベートの表示がされるというわけなんですね。

Only when those conditions are met and that person gets close does the private display appear.

しかもさらに面白いのは、

What's even more interesting is this:

遠くで見るとこんな表示だけど、

from far away you see a display like this,

近づくと詳細になる。

but when you get close, it turns into details.

これもよく考えられていますね。

This too has been well thought out.

で、画面の明るさは最大五百ニトから最小でなんと零点三ニトまで下がります。

Also, the screen brightness drops from a maximum of 500 nits all the way down to a minimum of 0.3 nits.

寝室に置く場合も明るくなりすぎず安心ですね。

Even if you place it in a bedroom, it won't get too bright, so that's reassuring.

あと、色々仕様を見ていて面白いなと思ったのが、HomeView、Safariに対応しているんですね。

Another thing I found interesting while looking at the various specs is that HomeView supports Safari.

ホームアプリだけじゃなくて、

It's not only the Home app,

メッセージ、カレンダー、リマインダー、探す、それからFaceTimeもあります。

there are also Messages, Calendar, Reminders, search, and then FaceTime.

で、Safariがあるからこその面白い機能の一つが、ウェブの中にあるレシピ。

And so, one of the interesting features that exists precisely because it has Safari is the recipes on the web.

こんな感じでSafariで見ているレシピをHomeView用に料理の手順に整理してくれるみたいなんですね。

It seems it organizes a recipe you're viewing in Safari into cooking steps for HomeView, like this.

ただページを開くだけじゃなくて、声でタイマーを操作したり、材料の確認を手伝ってもらったり、ちゃんとアシストしてくれるわけですね。

But it doesn't just open the page: it properly assists you by operating the timer by voice and helping you check ingredients.

それからカメラも内蔵していて、千二百万画素FaceTimeのセンターフレームに対応しています。

It also has a built-in camera, and it supports FaceTime's Center Stage with 12 million pixels.

で、HomePodみたいにiPhoneをHomeViewに近づけて再生を引き継ぐこともできますね。

And like a HomePod, you can also bring your iPhone close to the HomeView to hand playback over.

それからもう一つ気になったポイントが、HomeView、なんと温度と湿度のセンサーも内蔵しているんですね

And another thing that caught my attention is that HomeView, surprisingly, also has built-in temperature and humidity sensors.

。HomePodMiniにも温湿度センサーはあるんですが、今回は画面が一体になっているのがいいんです。

The HomePod mini also has a temperature and humidity sensor, but what's nice this time is that the screen is integrated with it.

部屋の温湿度を見て、そのままそれを画面で確認できるわけですね。

You can look at the room's temperature and humidity and check it right there on the screen.

それから今回、なんと壁掛けモデルも発売されるみたいです。

And what's more, it seems a wall-mounted model will be released this time, too.

卓上型とこのような薄い壁掛け用のモデルが別々に用意されていて、

A desktop model and a thin wall-mount model like this one are being prepared separately,

この壁掛けタイプはなんとPoE対応のものがあるんですね

and surprisingly, this wall-mount type even has a version that supports PoE.

皆さんも一度は使ったことがあるLANケーブル。

これを使うとインターネットができるケーブルなんですが、

If you use this, it's a cable that lets you get on the internet, but...

実はこのケーブル、電源ケーブルの代わりにもなるんですね。

actually, this cable can also serve as a power cable.

これ一本を挿せば、電源も通信もこれ一本で対応できるというのがPoEというもの。

If you plug in just this one cable, it handles both power and communication, and that's what PoE is.

今回のHomeViewはそのPoEに対応しているので、たった一本の線だけで充電と通信ができるようになるわけです。

This HomeView supports PoE, so a single wire is all you need for both charging and communication.

このPoE、めちゃくちゃ便利なので、僕はこれから日本でも普及してくるんじゃないかなと思っています。

This PoE is incredibly convenient, so I think it will start spreading in Japan from now on too.

それからもちろんSiriAIにも対応しますね

And of course, it also supports Siri AI.

。HomeViewでSiriAIと始めた会話は、iPhoneやMacのSiriアプリでそのまま引き継ぐことができます。

The conversations you start with Siri AI on HomeView can be carried over as they are to the Siri app on your iPhone or Mac.

それからやっぱり嬉しいのはこちらですね。

And what I'm really happy about is this one.

スマートホーム製品の操作。

Controlling smart home products.

この画面では部屋のエアコンの操作と扇風機、家の鍵、照明、そしてカメラが表示されていますね。

On this screen, the room's air conditioner controls, a fan, the house key, lighting, and cameras are displayed.

今回、カメラは最大九台のカメラを同時に表示することができるみたい。

This time, it seems you can show up to nine cameras at the same time.

ただし、これはiCloud+のプランが必要ですが、やっと家の様子をこんなおしゃれな端末で常時表示できるようになるわけですね

However, this requires an iCloud+ plan, but you can finally see your home at all times on such a stylish device.

。HomeView、価格は二百九十九ドル、アメリカで十一月十三日発売になります。

HomeView costs 299 dollars and goes on sale in the US on November 13.

次はこちらAppleHomeCollection。

Next up is this one: the Apple Home Collection.

僕が今回一番驚いた製品です。

This is the product that surprised me the most this time.

なんとAppleがあのLGとシュナイザーエレクトロニックという会社と共同開発したスマートホーム製品なんですね。

Surprisingly, it's a smart home product that Apple developed jointly with that LG and a company called Schneider Electric.

スマートロックに温湿度計に、こちらは室内カメラ、これが室外カメラですかね。

It includes a smart lock, a thermo-hygrometer, this one is the indoor camera, and this one is the outdoor camera.

で、これも残念ながら日本発売は未定と思っていたんですが、

And I had thought that this one too, unfortunately, had no release date in Japan, but...

なんと日本のプレスリリースのこちら、AppleHomeCollectionは十二月に発売予定で、一部のアクセサリーは二千二十七年初頭に発売予定です。

Surprisingly, according to the Japanese press release, the Apple Home Collection is scheduled for release in December, and some accessories are scheduled for early 2027.

なんとこのめちゃくちゃおしゃれなスマートホーム製品、日本でも発売されるようですね。

いや、これはめちゃくちゃ嬉しい。

No, this makes me really happy.

日本のスマートホーム界隈でもかなりのビッグニュースになると思います。

I think this will be fairly big news even in the Japanese smart home scene.

で、この製品たち、ただおしゃれというだけじゃなくて、面白いのはiPhoneを近づけるだけで設定が完了するんですね。

And these products aren't just stylish; what's interesting is that setup completes just by bringing your iPhone close, isn't it?

メーカーごとの追加のアプリやアカウントは必要なくて、ただかざすだけで設定完了。

You don't need extra apps or accounts for each manufacturer; just hold it over and setup is done.

しかもWi-Fiが変わっても、機器側のネットワーク情報が自動で更新されるみたいなんです。

What's more, even if your Wi-Fi changes, the network information on the device side apparently updates automatically.

これが地味だけど便利なんですよね。

This is understated, but it's really convenient, isn't it?

今のスマートホーム製品って、ルーターを変えたり、引っ越ししたタイミングで設定をやり直さないといけないという手間があるんですが

With today's smart home products, there's the hassle of having to redo the setup when you change your router or move house.

、その手間が減るならなかなか助かりますね。

If that hassle is reduced, it's quite a help, isn't it.

で、価格はそれぞれこんな感じ。

So, the prices are like this.

日本で発売されているものと大体同じくらいの値段になってきますね。

They've ended up at about the same price as what's sold in Japan.

これは既存のスマートホームメーカー、かなり焦っているんじゃないかなと思います。

I think existing smart home makers must be pretty panicked about this.

次はこちら。HomePodmini2。

Next is this one: the HomePod mini 2.

こちらは日本でも発売されます。

This one will be released in Japan too.

六年ぶりにリニューアルした新しいHomePodmini。

It's the new HomePod mini, renewed for the first time in six years.

カラーは五色展開になっていて、

The lineup now comes in five colors,

今回から新しく、

この上の部分ですね、

光るようになっているみたい。

and it seems to glow.

チップもS10チップを搭載していて、個人的に嬉しいポイントがこれ、Macのスピーカーとして使えるようになっています。

This chip, like the S10 chip, is built in, and what makes me personally happy is that it can now be used as a Mac speaker.

従来のものもAirPlay経由で使うことはできたんですが、若干ラグがあったりしてちょっと使いづらかったんですよね。

Previously you could also use it via AirPlay, but there was a bit of lag and it was a little hard to use.

今回はその辺の遅延も解消されて、ちゃんとMacのスピーカーとして使えるようになるみたい。

This time that latency has been eliminated, and it seems it can be properly used as a Mac speaker.

もちろん音質度のセンサーも入っていて、スマートホームのThreadにも対応していますね。

で、この後紹介する新しいAppleTVと組み合わせると、

ただ注意が必要なのは、SiriAIも対応してるんだけど、

これアメリカでもアップデート対応となっています。

なので、日本でSiriAIがHomePodで使えるようになるのはまだもう少し先になりそうですね。

So it looks like it will be a little while before Siri's Apple Intelligence becomes usable on HomePod in Japan.

価格は二万四千八百円で十月三十日発売です。

続いてAppleTV4K。こちらも第四世代が発表されました。

これも日本発売されて、価格は四万九千八百円で十一月十三日発売ですね。A19

This one will also be released in Japan, priced at 49,800 yen, on November 13.

チップを搭載していて、百二十八ギガのストレージ、それからWi-Fi7に対応しています。

It is equipped with the A19 chip, has 128 GB of storage, and supports Wi-Fi 7.

ギガビットのEthernetと、それからThreadにももちろん対応していますね。

It supports Gigabit Ethernet and, of course, Thread too.

で、さっきもご紹介しましたが、今回一番楽しみなのは、

And, as I introduced earlier, what I'm most looking forward to this time is...

このAppleTVと組み合わせることで、四つのHomePodを使った本格サラウンドが楽しめるんですね。

...that by combining it with this Apple TV, you can enjoy real surround sound using four HomePods.

しかも、この画像を見てわかるように、HomePodとHomePodminiを組み合わせた計四台でも対応できるみたいです。

What's more, as you can see from this image, it seems it also works with a total of four units, combining HomePod and HomePod mini.

このサラウンドを楽しむには、今回のAppleTV4Kに加えて、先ほどご紹介したHomePodmini2と第二世代のHomePodが必要ですね。

To enjoy this sound, you need the Apple TV 4K from this time, plus the HomePod mini 2 I introduced earlier and a second-generation HomePod.

なので一番安い構成で新型のAppleTV4KとHomePodmini2四台を揃えた場合でも、

今回、ついにAppleからスマートホーム製品が発表されたということで、僕が期待したいのは、スマートホームに詳しい人だけじゃなくて、家族もみんな自然に使えるようになることですね。

日本ではまだ使えないものもあるし、実機を触ってみないとわからないこともたくさんあるけど、少なくともこれまで以上にスマートホームがみんなにとって身近な存在になることは間違いないと思います

Some things still can't be used in Japan, and there are lots of things you can't know without trying the actual device, but I'm sure smart homes will at least become more familiar to everyone than before.
