Я пришла домой после работы и сразу захотела уехать куда-нибудь очень далеко.I came home after work and immediately wanted to go somewhere very far away.

Например, в лес.For example, to a forest.

Без вай-фай, без людей и желательно без домашних заданий.Without Wi-Fi, without people, and preferably without homework.

В квартире был настоящий хаос.There was real chaos in the apartment.

Кто-то кричал.Someone was shouting.

Кто-то смеялся.Someone was laughing.

Что-то упало.Something fell.

Собака лаяла.The dog was barking.

Кошка носилась по коридору.The cat was racing around the hallway.

И мне показалось, что даже хомяк был эмоционально уставшим.And it seemed to me that even the hamster was emotionally tired.

Я дома.I'm home.

У меня большая семья: муж, двое детей, собака, кошка и хомяк по имени Борис.I have a big family: a husband, two children, a dog, a cat and a hamster named Boris.

Да, хомяка зовут Борис, потому что он выглядит серьезным.Yes, the hamster is called Boris because he looks serious.

Мы живем в обычной российской квартире на третьем этаже.We live in an ordinary Russian apartment on the third floor.

У нас три комнаты: спальня, детская и гостиная.We have three rooms: a bedroom, a kids' room and a living room.

На кухне стоит круглый стол, белый холодильник и старый чайник.In the kitchen there is a round table, a white fridge and an old kettle.

Я сняла куртку, поставила сумку и сразу наступила на игрушку.I took off my jacket, put down my bag and immediately stepped on a toy.

Ааа!Aaah!

Сын выглянул из комнаты: "Мама, ты чего?"My son peeked out of his room: "Mom, what's with you?"

Я только что наступила на Lego.I just stepped on a Lego.

Теперь я знаю настоящую боль.Now I know real pain.

Он серьезно сказал: "Да, папа тоже плакал".He said seriously: "Yes, Dad cried too."

В этот момент мимо меня пробежала собака с колбасой в зубах.At that moment a dog ran past me with a sausage in its teeth.

За ней бежала дочка.My daughter ran after it.

"Мама, Барсик украл ужин"."Mom, Barsik stole dinner."

Я посмотрела на собаку, потом на мужа.I looked at the dog, then at my husband.

Муж спокойно ответил: "Дети выбирали имя".My husband answered calmly: "The kids chose the name."

Мне нужно приготовить ужин, постирать белье, помыть посуду, выкинуть мусор,I need to cook dinner, wash the laundry, wash the dishes, take out the trash,

сделать уроки со старшим ребенком, погладить одежду и успеть посмотреть любимый сериал.do homework with my older child, iron the clothes, and manage to watch my favorite series.

Я посмотрела на часы.I looked at the clock.

Отлично.Great.

У меня есть примерно три минуты свободной жизни.I have about three minutes of free life.

Я открыла холодильник.I opened the fridge.

Там были суп, сыр, яйца и торт.There was soup, cheese, eggs and a cake.

Торт, который никто не должен есть.A cake that nobody is supposed to eat.

В России такая еда есть в каждом холодильнике.In Russia, this kind of food is in every fridge.

Я начала готовить ужин, и тут муж спросил:I started cooking dinner, and then my husband asked:

"Дорогая, где мои носки?""Darling, where are my socks?"

Я не Google.I'm not Google.

Через секунду пришел сын.A second later my son came in.

"Мам, помоги с математикой"."Mom, help me with math."

Я посмотрела в потолок.I looked at the ceiling.

Конечно.Of course.

Через минуту на кухню пришла дочка.A minute later my daughter came into the kitchen.

"Мам, хомяк съел бумагу"."Mom, the hamster ate a piece of paper."

Это был счет за электричество.It was the electricity bill.

Хомяк сидел, очень довольный собой.The hamster sat there, very pleased with himself.

Через секунду на кухне что-то задымилось.A second later something started smoking in the kitchen.

Котлеты, конечно.The cutlets, of course.

Наконец мы сели ужинать.Finally we sat down to have dinner.

Дети разговаривали одновременно.The kids talked all at once.

Собака смотрела на котлеты, кошка смотрела на собаку, а я думала только об одном — о сериале.The dog looked at the cutlets, the cat looked at the dog, and I thought about only one thing: my TV series.

Наконец дети уснули.Finally the kids fell asleep.

Я сделала чай, села на диван, включила сериал и тут услышала:I made tea, sat on the sofa, turned on the series, and then I heard:

"Мам, я не могу уснуть"."Mom, I can't fall asleep."

Я медленно закрыла глаза.I slowly closed my eyes.

Конечно, иду, потому что это семья.Of course, I'm coming, because it's family.

Шумная, сумасшедшая, уставшая, но любимая.Noisy, crazy, tired, but beloved.
